On Dengue Fever and Asthma
Dengue fever is very rampant in our place nowadays. There are so many cases of Dengue and it is very alarming. In a nearby province, it is already declared a state of calamity due to soaring dengue cases. The daughter of my office mate is also having a dengue and is now confined in the pediatric intensive care unit in a hospital. She's having a stage 3 hemorrhagic dengue. Her heart, lungs, liver and kidney are now affected so she's really in critical condition. Her vital signs are very unstable. I pray fervently for her recovery.
Hubby and me told Mom yesterday to just let Keona stay indoors. She usually go out in the afternoon and play outside but we don't allow her to go out as of this time. The daughter of my office mate is also having an asthma so she's having also difficulty breathing. And this morning, I wondered why our one house help looked sad and I can sense that there's something wrong. Later, I found out that the other house help is having an asthma and hard-up to breath. Hopefully, she'll get better after taking medicine.

Tuesday Quotable Toots (7)
People are like stained glass windows;
they sparkle and shine when the sun
is out, but when the darkness sets in
their true beauty is revealed only if
there is light within.

their true beauty is revealed only if
there is light within.

Hi 5 Monster Dance
My little girl loves a lot this Monster Dance song by Hi 5. Hubby downloaded a video of it and she would look at the video and dance with it. But when it's her time to go to bed, she wants hubby to sing it for her using the rabbit puppet that she has. The problem is, hubby could not memorize the lyrics yet so he asked me to google it.
Thanks to Momsy ker2 b. nalzaro who owns Hi-5 Fan Site and Song Lyrics. I finally found the lyrics in her site...
HAPPY MONSTER DANCE
we know a monster who's very very sweet
the friendliest monster that you could ever meet
he's name is happy, and if you get the chance
to make this happy monster,to show you how to dance
how to dance, how to dance
you gonna stomp your feet, stomp, stomp, stomp
twist and shout,ha,ha,ha
you gotta shake your arms and legs, right out
Coz' it's a happy, happy monster (monster) dance
Coz' it's a happy, happy monster (monster) dance
we can all be monsters
with silly monster feet
the silliest monster that you could ever meet
let's all be happy and do the monster dance
and if your happy you wave you monster hands,
wave your hands, wave your hands
you gonna stomp your feet, stomp, stomp, stomp
twist and shout,ha,ha,ha
you gotta shake your arms and legs, right out
Coz' it's a happy, happy monster (monster) dance
Coz' it's a happy, happy monster (monster) dance
happy monster dance some more
faster music on the floor
ready to jam, ready to play
monster band take it away
happy, happy monster (monster) dance
happy, happy monster (monster) dance
happy, happy monster (monster) dance
monster dance
dance!
the friendliest monster that you could ever meet
he's name is happy, and if you get the chance

Not Feeling Good
I felt like really tired last weekend and was unusually irritable. Mid-life crisis? Nope. Stress? Perhaps. PMS (pre-menstrual syndrome). Right.
My period has actually arrived yesterday. Had it not for my work, I would have extended my slumber in that comfy bed hugging lil girl, not to mention the beautiful cool weather that really made me hard up to get up from bed today. But I need to work. I just hope this menstrual cramps will not keep me company the whole day.
Remembering my beloved father
This is the month that I was very down. That was probably one of the lowest moments in my life. The pain of receiving a news that someone who is a major part of my life is gone....forever.
But on the other side of the coin, the thought of having him finally rest is also a relief. To be able to see him get rid of the daily sacrifice of breathlessness. That was four years ago. When my father passed away due to emphysema.
We remember him this month in prayer. To my Papa, you'll forever be a part of my life and the values you inculcated to us will live forever. We love you and I hope you rest in peace.

Rain pouring in
It's 2:39 AM in my clock and the heavy rain is pouring. It makes me remember Keona's song everytime she sees an umbrella or whenever there is a rain.
Rain, rain go away,
Come again another day,
Little Keona wants to play.
Come again another day,
Little Keona wants to play.
The cool weather makes me need to retreat to my bed now. Nice morning everyone!
Tighter schedule
We have no house help left. She has to return home to take care of her ailing mom. It's been also a month now that I have not found a yaya yet for my lil girl. The result is a tighter schedule for me and hubby. I need to wake up early to do the laundry, clean up while hubby does the cooking. That's if Keona does not wake up. If she does, our schedule is ruined because she would cry hard. She doesn't want to be left alone in bed while we are out working on the household chores. Hope we'll be able to find new ones and our schedule will ease up. This is a middle of the night post, while Keona is in her dreamland and hubby's just finished playing his fave dota. Whew! need to grab something for my midnight snacks:).

Road Rage
Last Sunday afternoon, the whole family went to the church to hear mass. When the Holy Mass was over we went to the mall for snacks. While heading to Gmall, traffic in front of the church was really heavy because of people coming in for next mass schedule and others were leaving the church. Grandpa never give in to other motorists if he thinks he is in the right way. As we passed by a motor cab (single motor attached with a sidecar), there was a strange sound, the handle of the motorcab touched the side of our car. Grandpa right away was flaming with rage and he was exchanging bad words with the other motorist. He would have wanted to punch the motorcab driver but Grandma insisted to just let him go. Good thing, the handle of the motorcab is rubberized so there was no scratch on our car.
There are lots of road accidents and deaths everyday simply because a lot of people never give way. As I remember one sermon of a priest, life is like traffic signs - no left turn, no u-turn, one way, stop, but the best is, GIVE WAY and KEEP RIGHT!

My Sister's Visit
My sister who is a practicing nurse in our town came over home because she has a seminar regarding rabies. Since she is on a 3-day stay-in seminar, she accompanied me the other night home to visit Keona for she miss already my lil girl. It's been quite long already since the last time she met with Keona. Lil girl did not know how to walk yet.
When we arrived home, lil girl was very ecstatic. She jumped with joy and showed her antics and tricks to her aunt. She danced and sang her fave songs. My sister said lil girl has grown so fast and she's becoming very charming and beautiful(my heart sings upon hearing this from her...a mom indeed, LOL).

It's Monday and Loving it!
I don't usually like Mondays, honestly. I always felt it's too far for the weekend. But today, I feel different. I have that enthusiasm to be up for work. Yeah, I knew it. I love the weather today. It's cool and there has been sporadic rain showers. Happy start of the week friends!

My swimsuit heiress
When I arrive home today from work, the dresses are placed in the laundry basket ready to be placed in the closet. I immediately arranged and sorted them and put them in their proper places inside our clothes cabinet when Keona spotted my old swimsuit. I bought it around 7 years back when we had an overnight beach party during my 25th birthday. I must be very slim at that time because it became very small for me now. As I'm piling up the clothes, Keona got the swimwear because the color is somehow similar to hers. She then asked hubby to put it on her and when it's done, she showed it off to us and to her grandma who's in the kitchen. We were really having a good laugh looking at her. Here she is...
Never mind the bikini placed on her head. LOLz .That swimwear is already hers but it has to wait until she gets older and it will fit her well.

Exhausted but still feeling great
Today is my first day at work for this week since we don't have work from Monday till Wednesday. Oh, I just wish it's always like that, just 2-3-day work in a week.haha. My workmate who is often absent from work is absent again today so I became very busy doing works that should have been hers. Well, I hope everything's OK with her and her children who are often the reason why she can't report for work.
On another note, my little girl is becoming fond of dancing and singing her fave songs by the group Hi Five. She especially love the songs Monster Dance and Stop Look Listen. Gonna join my girl now in her dancing and singing. No matter how tired I am from work, I get energize whenever I am with Keona and whenever lil girl ask me to dance with her. Have a great Thursday night friends!
