Eating Out with Family at Gerry's Grill

Bonding with one's family is very important.  It makes your relationship with each other stronger and it makes you get closer with one another.  One of the best ways to bond with your family is to dine out.  Sometimes, we need to indulge and dine out at a favorite restaurant just to chill out and enjoy that precious moment with your loved ones.

Hubby and little girl

Little girl scans the menu

Lil girl's fave - pork liempo

My fave - grilled tuna belly

One fine day, me and hubby felt bored just staying at home.  We thought of going out and we headed to Abreeza mall to check on restaurants that serve our favorite foods.  Our toes brought us to Gerry's Grill restaurant.  The fact that the place is not crowded is really a huge advantage.  It took us not too long to wait for our orders to be served.

Guys, if you feel like chilling out and bonding with your family, don't hesitate to indulge and go to your fave restaurant and eat out.  As long as it is not becoming a routine for you, it's all right to spend some bucks dining out.  It surely is worth it.

Let Your Family Experience the Beauty of Carnations

Flowers are beloved by many families, perhaps even more by my own. While most of us prefer the looks and fragrances of fresh flowers, it can be difficult finding just the right ones. Not only is price a concern, but so is the durability of the flowers—nothing is more sad than having fresh flowers die within hours of receiving them.
Carnations are one of the best selections out there because they solve these problems and more. Also, fresh carnations hold so many meanings that make them a great selection for a variety of occasions. Consider the possibilities and discover why these are a family favorite in our household.

Dianthus caryophyllus, Family, Flower, Mediterranean, Mediterranean Sea, Mother's Day, Oceania, Shopping

Saving Money

One big reason why we never used to buy fresh flowers on a regular basis is due to the prices. Going to the florist to get flowers all the time adds up, especially during certain times of the year. Buying wholesale carnations is the best solution because you are charged less per flower. While this might not sound like a big deal at first, it certainly adds up when you buy multiple flowers (who really buys just one flower?).
The company you purchase the carnations from also makes a difference. Businesses who strive to treat their employees well while ensuring customer satisfaction tend to have the best prices. Global Rose has long been the leader in carnation sales because the company offers affordable flowers at the best process around. This allows you the opportunity to buy carnations on just about every occasion, as well as for decorating purposes.

Keeping it Fresh

Another obstacle in the flower buying business is the freshness factor. Many families buy flowers only to find them wilting within one to two days. Carnations fit into the lifestyles of all busy families and they never fail to please. Depending on the level of care, your carnations can last from one to two weeks—significantly longer than other flowers, such as roses. This is perfect for decorating your home because you don’t have to waste time changing flowers out of vases every few days.

But how do you ensure the longevity of your carnations? First, the flowers need fresh water to continue flourishing. The stems must also be trimmed every few days to make sure that the carnations are able to drink the water and stay beautiful.

Family Celebrations

Carnations have historically been a family flower for centuries. The flowers are originally from the Mediterranean, but they have since been harvested in several regions of the world. They symbolize undying love and affection, and they come in a variety of colors from reds to pinks and purples to white. Consider using carnations for a variety of family functions, including:

·      Weddings
·      Birthdays
·      Mother’s Day
·      Valentine’s Day
·      Parties and events
·      Decorating

You also have a say in the length of the stems of the flowers as well as the sizes of the blooms. For example, mini carnations are available if you want a more subtle look. Regardless of the exact choice, these carnations are truly pleasing to everyone in your family.

Happy Father's Day 2012

Celebrating Father's day makes me feel nostalgic for it makes me miss my father and brings me back memories of him. Being a father is not easy. They are the head of the family and they need to be strong and provide for the whole family.

I admire my father for he is very hardworking and loving. He also was very tolerant of us yet he is very protective. I can relate how protective my hubby now with our own girl. That's the way fathers are.

To my hubby and all the fathers in the world, a very happy Father's Day 2012. Continue to be a blessing to your family.

Happy Mother's Day 2012

Mom's are the most wonderful gift God has given to us. They are selfless and never tire loving their children. They are firm and strong yet gentle and tender. They have the capacity to run a home yet they can be a strong manager or office worker in their respective work.

Being a mom myself, I now realize how blessed I am for being a mom. Not every woman is blessed to be a mother. Looking at my own mom now, I can't help but think how she is able to raise six of us, knowing that it is never easy to juggle household chores, office and running a small business on the side.

I salute my Mom and I am forever grateful of her. To my Mom, I love you very much and may you remain healthy always and be showered with God's blessings. Happy Mother's Day to all the mothers in the world.

Keona has Fever

When hubby and I arrived from work yesterday. Keona was still asleep in MIL's room. When she woke up, she looks tired and cried. MIL told us that she thinks Keona is having a fever because her body temperature is unusually high. I put my hand on her forehead and neck and I feel she's having a fever so we got the thermometer and it's 37.8 degree celcius. She's having a fever indeed.

I was wondering how much is the dosage for her paracetamol syrup so I called up Doctor Mike, her pediatrician. It's 5ml every 4 hours for the tempra paracetamol for she's turning 3 years old already on the 29th. I bet she's having fever because she slept very late the other night, 2:00 o'clock in the morning and she doesn't eat much. So her immune system must be very weak. Last night she requested for her favorite french fries and hamburger so hubby bought for her.

I'm glad she's not having fever now and hope it will continue to be gone...

On another note, I am glad I don't have to report for work today because I'm supposed to go to school but since it's already semestral break, I'll just stay home. It's very timely because I can take care Keona.

That's all for now folks, have a nice day.

Fun at the Pool

Last weekend, we had a lunch at the Garden by the Bay restaurant. After eating, hubby and Keona soaked in the pool. The two are having a good time while I was just watching them at the poolside taking photos.

Here's a photo of the two, obviously having fun.

I love those gorgeous smiles. Love yah. Have a great midweek friends:).

Back to Work

I have not updated this blog for a long time. I have been on vacation for one week and I have been enjoying it a lot. To make the best out of my vacation, I decided to slowdown on my online world to spend quality time with my family which I rarely do being a full-time working mom.

We went malling while I was on vacation, play and watch learning videos on DVD for Keona and stroll in the neighborhood most afternoons.

Have a great weekend friends.

How's my Child's Development?

Today I try to visit my account on babycenter to know how my little girl is growing.  I registered an account on babycenter when I was only few weeks pregnant to keep track of my baby's development inside my womb.

What the babycenter tells about my baby's development at her age now is indeed true.  Here it is...

"Your child is more in control of her movements. Now she can play with small objects easily and stack (not just knock over) towers of blocks. She can also concentrate for slightly longer periods of time, as much as 20 minutes if she's deeply engaged. Sometimes she'll become so absorbed in playing that she'll resent your interruption. You can make transitions easier by warning her in advance, as in, "You can play with the blocks for five more minutes, but then it's dinnertime." If you have a flexible schedule, you may want to give her a few warnings before you insist that she finish up her play."

Have a great start of the week friends:)

Not in the Mood

Perhaps this is one of my Monday blues. I don't feel very enthusiastic going to work today. I feel I still need a rest but it's a time of the year that we are very busy at work.

Blame it to the hormones.LOLz. I just have my monthly period and it makes me really lazy. I just wanna stay home and laze around:). Anyways, here's wishing you a great start of the week friends:).

Looking for Helper

Mom-in-law called me up in the office and told me to ask help from my Mom in the province to look for a house help. One of the house helps ask permission from her that she'll be going back home in their province and harvest rice in the fields. We can't ado anything because it's her decision to go home, so now, we are looking for a replacement.

I hope we can right away find a new one. Have a nice weekend friends.

Happy Birthday to my Mom

zwani.com myspace graphic comments

I'd like to greet my mom Alice a very happy, happy birthday. I have always admired the courage of my Mom. She withered a lot of storms that come her way in spite of being alone, a single mother. Since my father passed away, 4 years ago, my Mom remained strong and steadfast.

She's soft-hearted and yet, she also has a strong spirit, bringing up her kids alone, working overtime to meet both ends meet. I love you very much Mom and have a blessed birthday. I hope and pray for your good health always, more birthdays to celebrate and a peaceful life forever. Happy birthday Mom and we, your children love you very much.

Mild Fever

Me and hubby returned home from work a little late yesterday because we dropped by at the grocery store to buy Keona's milk, biscuits and other personal necessities. Upon arriving home, Keona was asleep because she went with Mom in the mall in the afternoon.

Hubby sneaked into our room, very careful not to create a sound, so Keona won't wake up. But Keona, upon hearing some footsteps right away looked at who has arrived and upon seeing hubby, she right away smiled and said "Hi Papa".

I hurriedly changed clothes and she demanded that she wants milk from me. Yes, I'm still breastfeeding her even if she's already 2 years old. My milk is yummier compared to her Nan HW, she says whenever I teased her that I'll stop breastfeeding her because she's already a big girl.

While I do my breastfeeding, I usually caress her, run my fingers on her hair or do massage on her legs. I noticed her temperature is unusually high and I compared it to mine just by simply putting my hand on my forehead. I really had a doubt so I grabbed the digital thermometer and checked her temperature. She indeed has a mild fever. It was 37.2 degree celsius. I right away told hubby about it and we had her take paracetamol which is stored in the cabinet.

As night deepened, we continued to monitor on her temperature and after taking on her 1:45 am dosage, her fever did not return anymore. In the morning, she's still asleep while we are off for work. So we just told Mom to observe her temperature and call us at work if there are problems with her. Hopefully, it will not go back.

Tighter schedule

We have no house help left. She has to return home to take care of her ailing mom. It's been also a month now that I have not found a yaya yet for my lil girl. The result is a tighter schedule for me and hubby. I need to wake up early to do the laundry, clean up while hubby does the cooking. That's if Keona does not wake up. If she does, our schedule is ruined because she would cry hard. She doesn't want to be left alone in bed while we are out working on the household chores. Hope we'll be able to find new ones and our schedule will ease up. This is a middle of the night post, while Keona is in her dreamland and hubby's just finished playing his fave dota. Whew! need to grab something for my midnight snacks:).

My Sister's Visit

My sister who is a practicing nurse in our town came over home because she has a seminar regarding rabies. Since she is on a 3-day stay-in seminar, she accompanied me the other night home to visit Keona for she miss already my lil girl. It's been quite long already since the last time she met with Keona. Lil girl did not know how to walk yet.

When we arrived home, lil girl was very ecstatic. She jumped with joy and showed her antics and tricks to her aunt. She danced and sang her fave songs. My sister said lil girl has grown so fast and she's becoming very charming and beautiful(my heart sings upon hearing this from her...a mom indeed, LOL).
