We have no work today. Yay, I love it so much. Holidays are indeed little joys for working parents like us.

Working in a Catholic institution has these perks. We get to enjoy fiesta holidays and it is such a big thing for us because it means quality time for our little one and of course, an extra day to do some house cleaning and lazing around the house.

Little girl has been really getting bigger, wiser and full of energy dancing, jumping which can be an issue sometimes because she can get sprained at times due to carelessness. Thanks to her favorite DVDs and CDs which the only ones to calm her down and get glued on TV.

Happy New Year 2012 Friends

I just wanna greet a happy new year 2012 to everyone. The past year brought us a bitter-sweet experiences and it has been a busy year and we are still thankful for all the blessings showered on us.

Lots have happened on me last year in terms of career. I was transferred to another department at work and I thought it was a hard new assignment only to find out it was the complete opposite. It was actually a blessing in disguise. Master studies is not easy yet I was able to pull up my first semester class with high grades. For all of those blessings, I am very thankful. And for all the trials and tribulations, still I am tankful I am able to pass through them and for all the learning I have taken from them.

I have plans and goals for this year 2012 and hopefully, the good Lord will grant all my heart's desires. If he'll will not, I just pray that I'll understand his message/ reasons why.

I always pray for Keona's good health. Her urine culture and sensibility recently has a bacteria and I hope it's just in the collection and not really from he inside. We have a repeat CS and I'm gonna get it tomorrow from the laboratory. Hopefully, it is negative from the bacteria. Her kidney/urinary bladder ultrasound result is good.

I hope for a more fruitful and blissful year ahead. Have a great day friends.

December Fever

Hi folks, how's your December? Few days from now and it's gonna be already Christmas. We have a lot of activities lined up in the coming days. We'll have an institutional party on the 17th and thankfully, that would be the end of work for this year and it's gonna be a Christmas vacation already.

December 17 is also the last day of my school for the first term. I want to finish all my requirements before I go vacation so that I don't have to deal with it once I'll go back.

We are scheduled to have a party also on the 18th and it's gonna be a beach party. We'll bring with us our little Keona. She is already very excited and been talking about it most of the time:).

Proudmom got 2 Free Lunches in a Row

As I have mentioned in my earlier post, two of my office mates are gonna celebrate their birthdays this week. So yesterday was the birthday of the other one. I ate lunch with them. Yummy pancit, kare-kare, lumpia shanghai were served. There was also the roasted chicken but I did not eat it to avoid allergy.

Today is the birthday of the other one. She told me already to have my lunch in their office. I donnu yet what she'll gonna serve. Freebies are always a delight:). To my officemates C and V, happy birthday to both of you. More blessings to come:)

Christmas 2010

We spent our Christmas at home with a simple noche buena. Troy and Therese visited us in the early evening to join our dinner. We had the indispensable lechon(roasted pig), my fave fruit salad, and spaghetti. Pappa rented a videoke so there was a singing in the terrace.

I admire little Keona's stamina. She never sleeps until 12:00 o'clock midnight, Christmas eve. She also ate a lot especially the fruit salad. Hmmm....like mother, like daughter. I have not taken any photos. I just felt lazy taking photos and just enjoy the moment. Merry Christmas everyone.

Happy Birthday to my Mom

I'd like to greet my mom Alice a very happy, happy birthday. I have always admired the courage of my Mom. She withered a lot of storms that come her way in spite of being alone, a single mother. Since my father passed away, 4 years ago, my Mom remained strong and steadfast.

She's soft-hearted and yet, she also has a strong spirit, bringing up her kids alone, working overtime to meet both ends meet. I love you very much Mom and have a blessed birthday. I hope and pray for your good health always, more birthdays to celebrate and a peaceful life forever. Happy birthday Mom and we, your children love you very much.

Today, hubby celebrates his 35th birthday. Happy birthday Papa. Keona and I, love you very much. The two of us may conspire to tease you sometimes but we want you to know that we love you very much:). You are the greatest hubby in the world. I bless the day when I met you .I hope and pray that our love for each other will stand the tests of time. I also hope & pray God will grant your heart's desires on your natal day. Keona's 2nd Birthday

Keona's second birthday celebration was simple yet memorable. Visitors were a few close friends and office mates. Some of them are also Keona's godmothers during her baptism.

As planned, we celebrated her birthday with a buffet lunch. We were a little late than the expected time because it's a Friday and there were so much traffic in the route that we took. Nevertheless, we arrived the restaurant where most of our visitors already there.

On Leave Today

I asked permission from my boss the other day that I won't report to work today, Keona's birthday. I told her I need time to bond with my little girl on her special day, so I filed a leave. Fortunately, without second thought, she allowed me.

Keona is still asleep now because she slept late last night playing. I bought her mat with photos of some Disney princesses whom she love so much. She was having a good time last night. We'll be adding some more of it next time. Have a nice day friends!

Getting Ready for Keona's Birthday

Keona's birthday is fast approaching. It's gonna be next week already, Friday. Hubby and me agreed to pass by the buffet house this afternoon after work so we can book in advance. We want a specific place for us so we'll have a little privacy.

We selected the place because it is cheaper and the food is great. They serve lots of delicious foods in a very affordable price. Have a great day friends!

Decision Made

After inquiring and visiting the nearest Jollibee, me and hubby finally decided the kind of birthday celebration that well have for our little Keona. Few days from now, September will get to end and it's gonna be already October, Keona's birthday month.

We will have the Keona's second birthday celebration simple, small and just brief. Her birthday falls on a Friday so we'll have work on that day. Her guests will just be few close family and relatives and her Christening Godmothers and Godfathers. We'll also invite some of our office friends. I'm still considering being absent on her day.

With this plan, our expenses will be lesser since we are still saving for the renal scan and ultrasound which will be done soon after her birthday. This is in connection with her ureter and bladder surgical correction last year. Hopefully, everything will turn out okay.

Kids Party or Buffet?

Next month, Keona will turn two. As early as now, me and hubby are already planning for her birthday celebration. We are thinking of either holding a kids party or just a buffet.

We have already inquired about kids party in a Jollibee and it's a little expensive compared with just a buffet. If we'll have kid's party, lil girl will surely enjoy it but the food will be limited to just the lauriat or the composition of foods that we are going to choose. If we'll have a buffet, it's less expensive and the adults will really have a full stomach since it is a buffet.

We are still weighing things up and determine which way to go.

No work

It's a beautiful Monday and we have no work till Wednesday. Yipeee! Holidays and no-work days are always a joy for us employees who spend 8 hours a day in the office. It means rest, family bonding, outing and anything that we can think of. Hubby wanted to have his haircut and I told him that me and Keona will go with him malling. Happy start of the week friends:).

Happy Birthday Grandpa

Yesterday was Grandpa's birthday. We did not have a huge celebration anymore since we already celebrated his birthday last sunday. All we did was buy him a cake from Goldilocks to express our gratitude to him and to let him know that we love him. Happy birthday Grandpa! More birthdays to come and more candles to blow:).

Grandpa will be celebrating his birthday next week. He wants to go back to the resort where we had our lunch last election day so we'll go swimming in the pool. Lil girl doesn't own any swimwear yet so we bought her one.

Happy Mother's Day

Here's a warm greetings to all the mother's out there! Motherhood is one of the best things that happen to a woman's life. Not all wives are blessed to become a mother.

To celebrate mother's day, hubby bought a cake for me from Goldilocks. For a simple celebration, we have roasted chicken and pork liempo for dinner. Have a beautiful Sunday evening friends and continue to be a blessing to everyone:).

Welcome to the love month

It's the first day of February. Have u made any plans for the Valentine celebration friends? For sure, me and hubby will celebrate Valentine's day in advance. Why? We had a not so good experience in celebrating it before. Usually, we celebrate it with a dinner in restaurants we seldom go. But during Valentines Day, most restaurants are full and crowded. One time, we went to a beautiful restaurant overlooking the city. We really love this place because aside from the delicious foods that they serve in just a reasonable price, the ambiance is really cool. It's located atop a hill, in the middle of mini-forest. In there, you can see the beautiful silhouette of lights in the downtown area of the city. But when we were there, it was full of people. We waited but we noticed that those people who arrived later than us gets tables first. We complained to the manager but he just can't get us vacant table and be served. I was really upset at that time. I was already very hungry and I have really no tolerance for hunger. If I'm hungry, I really eat or else I'll have an aching head. So we decided to get out in there or else we'll starve to death. We end up eating in a restaurant where many youngsters hang out which I didn't like because it's very noisy and there's a lot of smoke. What we thought to be a romantic dinner turned out to be a real disaster. Since then, we celebrate Valentine's day in advance.
