18 Months

Today, our little girl Keona turns 18-month old. She's really growing so fast and she can now sing and dance with the nursery rhymes that she love. She can now also identify the pictures in the 2 sets of alphabet flashcards that Mom bought for her. She has so much energy that she runs if she wants to and sometimes walk in tiptoe making her vulnerable to being outbalanced so she needs to be watched all the time. To compliment her being a fast learner, hubby bought an ice cream for her, rocky road flavor and she loves it very much.

Weekend stroll in the neigborhood

Saturday afternoon are usually spent at the mall or walking around the neighborhood. Aside from being able to bond with each other little girl learns also because she's able to see real life animals like pigs, cows, chicken, goats and dogs. It's a great learning experience for Keona and also an opportunity for us to sweat out and get fit. Happy Weekend everyone.

Enjoying the night even without electricity

I thought there would be no brownout/blackout anymore! There have been rain showers already lately but then again power outage strikes back last night. I was already sleepy but what can I do? I can't sleep without electricity because it's too hot!

So hubby got the notebook and have Keona's nursery rhymes play on it. The dark and noiseless night turned into fun with Keona dancing and singing her favorite songs with the aid of the emergency light. She can now sing the alphabet song even if she cannot pronounced it right. And I'm happy that she's learning fast. Happy weekend friends:)

A different evening...

I usually arrive at home from work around 5:45 to 6:30 in the evening. My lil girl expects me on this time range so she usually stays at the terrace waiting for me. Every time she sees me approaching home, she would shout and giggle and flash her big beautiful smile, very happy I'm back home (she usually cries in the morning when we leave and just promise her to return after office hours and she would bid goodbye and give a flying kiss).

When me and hubby arrive this evening, home is somewhat very serene, there's no noise at all. We surmised that lil girl is asleep and she is..indeed. She has just fallen asleep few minutes before we arrive. She would have fallen asleep at 1 in the afternoon but there was a blackout and she's awaken by the very hot weather. Good thing she's able to wake up just when I finish having my dinner, so she's able to eat and take her remaining antibiotic.

Finally back in the blogging world

beautiful white island at Camiguin

I was detached from my blogging for one week since I had my spiritual retreat and summer escapade last week and just arrived yesterday evening. The 9-hour travel via land and sea from Camiguin island going back to Davao city really drained my energy and so I just slept and marvel how my pretty lil girl grow up so fast in the seven days that we are not together. I don't report for work today. The intermix of rain showers and sun that kept us company in our escapade at Camiguin island makes me feel like having flu. Happy start of the week friends:).

No More Bacteria for the Second Time

Wohooo! Hubby and me got Keona's laboratory results yesterday. I was literally trembling when hubby got the result of the urine CS because I thought, what the information desk officer printing was the urine CS result and I saw lots of things written there. I know that when there's no bacteria in a urine culture, the result is clean, only few are written because there's no testing of antibiotics that reveals if the bacteria growth is resistant or not. To my relief, it was the CBC result that the girl was printing! Yesss! this is the second time in a row that there's no bacteria in Keona's urine CS. We'll go to her pediatrician this afternoon and he'll have the final say if we'll discontinue her prophylaxis that my little girl learn to like than her vitamins. Well, it tastes like her Nan HW milk which is a little bitter but yummy:)

Wordless Wednesday - Dialling the Phone?

As if she knows, but she doesn't..just very curious

Chickenpox Vaccination

We visited Keona's pediatrician/nephrologist yesterday to have her scheduled chickenpox immunization. We waited for quite long since we are number 6 patient in a row. As usual, my little girl was very energetic and full of enthusiasm shouting, dancing, running in the 8th floor of the medical tower building. But when she saw her doctor upon entering the clinic, she started crying out very loud even before the vaccination is being administered to her. Doctor Mike even bribed her for a lollipop candy but failed. She continued crying. Doctor Mike said that it's good that we have her immunized since many are afflicted with the disease nowadays due to the hot weather.

It's been 3 months already since we have her urine culture and we are doing it again now. Hopefully, there will be no more bacteria so my little girl can stop taking her daily low dose of antibiotic as prophylaxis since it's been already six months after her operation. She also had her CBC to check her hemoglobin so we can shift to another brand of vitamins. Have a great day friends:)

Ice cream time

ice cream time!

big mouth for ice cream

wow! what a smile

My little girl Keona loves ice cream. She especially likes ube and mango flavors. I'm not really into sweets because I easily get tonsillitis. I know she inherited this fondness for sweets from her pappa. Hubby loves ice cream andd chocolates too.

Good Friday Practice

all set and ready for the station of the cross

I told hubby that I'll fast my blogging today because it's good Friday (that means no blogging on Good Friday, hehe) and I can't do fasting when it comes to food because I still breastfeed my 17-month old baby but I'm breaking my promise to him.

My baby is now asleep so I take the time to blog or else I'll be blogging while breastfeeding tomorrow.haha.That's hard to do, huh!Anyways, I'm good when it comes to multitasking.hehe

We woke up this morning a little earlier than usual because it is our practice that during Good Friday, we'll go to the church and have our station of the cross. We planned to visit 7 churches and since there are 14 stations of the cross, we'll have to pray 2 stations every church. St. Joseph the Worker Parish was the first church we visited. The sun was very hot at around 11 o'clock in the morning so it was a real relief when we entered the air-conditioned St. Joseph church. When we finished the 2 stations, Mom suggested that we'll just finish all the 14 stations in St. Joseph because it's comfortable for our little girl Keona and when we visit the remaining 6 churches, we'll just have our individual prayer. Just when we finished the 14 stations, the reflection for the 7 last words also started. We then proceeded to Carmelite Church, Redemptorist Church, Assumption church, St. Jude Thaddeus Parish, Sta, Ana Shrine Parish and our last stop was Sacred heart church.

one of the churches we visited, Carmelite church

We were finished at around 1:30 in the afternoon and I was already very hungry. I just munch some biscuits that I brought with me and drink lots of water. Oh I love the fact that it was very easy and fast for us to go from one church to another because there's no traffic. It's a holiday and the only open establishment are the fast-food chains McDonald's and Chowking. We had our lunch at Chowking and all the food we ordered have no meat. I really don't like much the taste of the one hubby ordered for me - Chinese fish with tofu but finished it all because I was really hungry.
